I have seen Kris. He called last night and explained everything. Here's what happened:
The job he thought was overnight actually finished at 10, so he called round at mine at 10.10 to find I wasn't in (I was at my folks' place until 10.30 and then went to the shop on my way home) so he went to stay at his friend's house.
Then, on Saturday, after being invited out for a drink by said friend, he called at mine at 6 to again find me not home (I was at my friend's place, as I didn't have a phone and I needed one for the police to contact me - so she let me use her phone and stay there overnight). So, he went back to his friend's place and then for another trip to the pub - this was when the owner saw him, and later told me he had.
He called at mine for a third time on the way back, and again I was out - and, upon returning to his friend's place, had a seizure. His friend called an ambulance and he was taken to hospital.
When the police found him there on Sunday, he was wired to a lot of machines and didn't want me or Leonie to see him in that condition (I can understand why he didn't want Leonie to see him like that, but I would've been fine with it - my mum was in intensive care for a few weeks before she died). A few hours later, he tried calling me on my mobile, not realising it wasn't working.
On Wednesday night, I fixed my phone and, an hour later, he called, telling me all of this. His dad also called me to let me know, and to see if we were OK.
This afternoon, I went up to the hospital and saw him. He has to go to Bangor for a scan tomorrow morning, but if everything's OK, he should be discharged tomorrow evening. I am SO relieved. There's an explanation for it all and he's OK! I'm going to see him again later today, they have evening visiting hours as well as afternoon ones. And I'm getting him a present - a notepad and pen so next time he calls round and finds me not in he can leave me a flipping note!
