My dog has had to get put down today She was 14 years old, so she's had quite a long life for a dog. I didn't go to the vets with my mum, but when she came back without her I knew she was gone. The vet had said that she would just get worse and worse as time went on and that he couldn't really do anything more for her. She'd been having toilet problems for a while and also problems with her back legs - she didn't have much of a quality of life because all she was doing was lying in her bed, drinking water (too much of it) and asking for food all the time. It had to be done in the end...

Thats very sad. I'm so sorry about your dog honey.
Having her put to sleep was probably the best thing rather than letting her suffer. *hugs* xx

She could have been in pain anyway without us knowing about it...now we can remember her as the dog she used to be, when she was young and lively.

My mum had to tell my sister (Alison) about it on the phone yesterday She didn't want to tell Jennifer - my niece - about it so Alison would've spoken about it to her afterwards. It might take Jennifer longer to get over it because she's only 14...she's got her own pet budgies and hamster though so hopefully they'll make her feel better a bit...
