Does anyone else get woodlice crawling about their home? They're called slaters in Scotland, and my house never seems to be without at least one! Last night there was one in my bedroom and another in the living room...I don't know where they get in, but there must be a tiny hole somewhere...
Btw, did you know that woodlice are in the crustacean family and are therefore related to lobsters?

Yuk, how could anyone think about doing that, let alone do it!

Ewww!
I don't get woodlice in my house fortunately, except for the occasional one that just makes it over the doorstep and then dies. I do get ants in the house sometimes though, have to put down ant powder to keep them out.

From that site Jasmine mentioned: Drinking through the anus Woodlice get water with their food. But they can also drink it through their mouth parts and also by using their uropods. The uropods are tube-like structures on the posterior (back end) of the animal. When they use them for drinking they press their uropods close together and touch it against a moist surface. Capillary action pulls the water up the uropods and into the anus.EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!

Grim! Unfortunately I see quite a lot of them - usually dead (there is something about my flat that is worryingly toxic - to woodlice at least!).
