Climate to increase British fliesFly populations in Britain could soar this century because of climate change, according to a new study. Houseflies and bluebottles reproduce more quickly in warmer temperatures. Using computer models, researchers at Southampton University calculated that fly and bluebottle populations could rise by nearly 250% by the year 2080. A lot of flies breed in organic waste which people throw away Lovely! Best get prepared with the fly paper and cans of spray then…*shudder* news.bbc.co.uk

There was a bluebottle in the house today - luckily we managed to get it out of the house fairly quickly!

Here's a gruesome story! There was another bluebottle in the house - my bedroom, in fact - last night and I couldn't get it out of the room so I had to go to bed with it still buzzing round. It was preventing me from going to sleep too, which was really annoying but then came the moment...
Bluebottle flies round the bulb in the lamp beside my bed (which I keep on at night) then.....bzzzzzzzzzzzt...silence. No more buzzing. This morning I found out that it'd got trapped between the bulb and the side of the bit the bulb goes in and must've got fried - eeeeeeeewwww!!!
