The World Cup. It's about to start. I've changed my name to mark the occasion (and no, I'm not jumping on his bandwagon - that's MY horse in front of said vehicle). Yes, I am in love with Peter Crouch. Have been for yonks. And now, I've decided to stop being ashamed - he IS gorgeous, no matter how many people throw words like "beanpole" and "lanky" in his direction.
It's time to admit it. I am part English, and that part is screaming to watch the games, although my self-made Welsh half is screaming back.
So - predictions, anyone? I think England will do reasonably well, and I think there will be at least one "Wayne Who?ney" headline over summer.

Predictably, there are a lot of Scots that don't want England to do very well in the World Cup, because they're bitter about the Scottish team being rubbish Fortunately, I'm not one of them and I am backing England all the way in this, it'd be nice if they won it again!

I am in love with Peter Crouch. Have been for yonks. And now, I've decided to stop being ashamed - he IS gorgeous, no matter how many people throw words like "beanpole" and "lanky" in his direction. I'm a Liverpool fan so I'm on Crouchie's side (although I always thought he was a much better player than people gave him credit for before he joined my lot). Is he gorgeous though? Well, being a straight bloke, I'm probably not the guy to ask. But I always thought he looked a bit 'prominent' in the upper teeth department... Ah, what do the Welsh know? Nothing about being at a World Cup, that's for sure! (Just teasin'!) Wales have released a World Cup song by the way. Here are the lyrics; - " 'Ere we stay, 'Ere we stay, 'Ere we stay...' (Just teasin' again!) Is that a serious question?! With the penalty-taking prowess displayed by Peter Crouch and Frank Lampard this week, our name's already on the Cup! (Gimme a sec before I continue. Gotta put my rifle away after this afternoon's flying-pig-hunting expedition.) And every time I read that pun I'll be crying, "Peter-Ouch!" Predictably, there are a lot of Scots that don't want England to do very well in the World Cup, because they're bitter about the Scottish team being rubbish Welllllllllll, I found when I was living in Glasgow that the locals wanted England to lose regardless of how bad Scotland were. Sad really. Yay! There's hope for the Scots yet! On a serious note, I've always thought the chip-on-shoulder business about England is bad for the Celtic nations; many of them are so obsessed with hoping that England fail - like that's ever going to do them any favours - that they only keep half-an-eye on their own chances of success. It's vindictive, little-minded, and pointless. (I know they like to tell themselves that it's all part of the fun, but it's clear from the angry zeal they display that it's not true.) And I'm saying all that as a half-Weegie myself! Anyway, back to World Cup predictions. Italy champions. England runners-up. Brazil third. France fourth.

*Throws sticky-back photos of Steven Gerrard through Arcadia's window. They latch onto the screen and block her view of the DVD.*

Well it's just one of those things, y'know? When we can't play about with them, we get grumpy...

I can't say I like Wayne Rooney very much...and the news is acting like he's the only player there is - he's even overshadowed David Beckham! I'm not REALLY a football fan, so I'm glad that I don't have to put up with a football mad boyfriend - Jon hates football
