Hello, and welcome to my top 30 singles of the year.
Anyways, my tastes are quite varied but also fairly mainstream at times and incase some of my choices are songs that you are not familiar with, i'll be adding a vid link with each and every one of them.

30. Shakira: Hips Don't Lie
A quality summer song with a major latino feel, the addition of Wyclef Jean also works wonders.

29. Jamelia: Beware of the Dog
Jamelia samples an old Depeche Mode song to great effect in order to create this tune.

28. The Kooks: Ooh La
The first of two songs on my list which were made by this band, their sound is superbly unique thanks the unmistakable voice of their lead singer.

27. Ayaka: Crescent Moon/Your Kiss
A double A side release from this talented Japanese singer, although i personally prefer the second song (Your Kiss), i could only find a video for the first lol.

26. Gwen Stefani: Wind it up
A very unusual song which mixes yodelling with a Neptunes produced beat, curious and catchy.

25. Pink: u and ur hand
Of all the songs Pink has released in 2006, this is by far her best work, a rocky tune that sticks in the mind.

24. The Black Eyed Peas: Pump It
One of their best songs in ages, this sampled the Pulp Fiction theme tune and became a song that is always good when you turn the volume up.

23. Robbie Williams: Lovelight
The style of this song reminds me a lot of that which was used by George Michael, it's a catchy one that gets you hooked after a while.

22. Nelly Furtado: All Good Things
Unfortunately, Amazon did'nt have a working picture of the proper cover so i had to show the album one instead. Still, that does'nt take away the fact that this single which came out just a few weeks ago, is one of the best on that CD.

21. Fall Out Boy: Dance Dance
This was included as part of the Burnout Revenge soundtrack and thanks to that i became addicted to this song.

20. Pussycat Dolls: Buttonz
With a deep thumping beat, this is by far the best PCD song of all.

19. Utada Hikaru: Keep Tryin'
Utada's only major releases of 2006 was her album Ultra Blue and this single which was taken from it (Passion and Be My Last were 2005 singles), it's a fun, upbeat tune with a quality video, yay for Hikki! :^_^:

18. Beyonce: Irreplaceable
Probably the best Beyonce single since 'Crazy in Love', this is a great tune to sit back and chill out with.

17. Scissor Sisters: I don't feel like dancin'
The American group who are hated in America, this single shot to No.1 here back in September and became one of the biggest hits of 2006.

Oasis have been around for years and this was the first single released to promote their greatest hits album, a classy rock tune.

The song that brought emo into the mainstream, a quality track that was a huge success in the UK charts.

A chilled out and quite atmospheric song released at a time when there was little else around of any worth.

10. Sugababes: Easy
The top 10 begins with what is probably the best Sugababes song since Hole in the Head (2003), not sure why they needed to shoot the video in toilet cubicles though.

9. The Feeling: Fill my little world
The surprise hit of the year, this came out of nowhere and thanks to a catchy chorus and quirky video, it soon became one of my favourites.

8. MxPx: Heard That Sound
Unfortunately i could'nt find the proper cover to this so the album had to do, the song came to may attention as part of the Burnout Revenge soundtrack and i quickly became addicted.

7. Nelly Furtado: Maneater
Nelly Furtado returned to the scene this year with some of the finest work she has ever done, this was the first single released from the album Loose and proved to be a truly awesome song.

4. Sandi Thom: I wish i was a punk rocker
This came out of nowhere to reach No.1 after becoming massively successful on myspace. Unfortunately though, the video below does'nt allow you to hear the full background beat and so it seems quieter than it should be.

3. Take That: Patience
After splitting up over 10 years ago, Take That reformed as a group and created a single and album so good, that both have been No.1 in the UK charts for the last few weeks.

2. Nelly Furtado: Promiscuous
The funkiest track of the year in my opinion and the best song on her album. This is probably the song i have played most of all during 2006.

1. Christina Aguilera: Hurt
After years of being dirrty, Christina returned to the scene this year with a whole new look and with it, some of the classiest material to be released in ages. Of the songs she released though, this one is by far the best and together with an amazing video and her incredible voice, it fully deserves it's place as my favourite song of 2006.
