Ooh, thanks for the poster Jas!
I can't wait! I'll definitely come in here and tell you about it when I've seen it.
The Firefly episodes were never shown on terrestrial TV here (only the Sci-Fi channel I think) so the UK fanbase has grown from people buying the DVDs. The film is aimed at people who haven't seen the series as well as existing fans, so there's no need to see the TV shows first, it'll still make sense.
Go and see it Julia! And Jas! And everyone else as well.

Nice pictures!
I went along to the UK premiere (except it wasn't really a premiere) yesterday (didn't get to see the film though) and it was great fun. There were lots of fans there and Joss Whedon, Nathan Fillian, Summer Glau and Chiwetal Ejiofor met people and signed loads of stuff and they were all great! And that Nathan is damn sexy!
Won't see the film till Saturday probably but I'm looking forward to it!

Eeeeee! I saw Serenity last night and it was damn good!
Tense and exciting all the way through, I was on the edge of my seat at times. I really liked how it expanded the themes from the TV series but added new elements too and explained some of the mysteries. The characters I know and loved were all there and it was so good to see them again. The audience seemed to enjoy it too and laughed at all the funny moments.
River kicks all kinds of ass, Mal is heroic and funny and flawed and does what he has to, Zoe is snarky and brave, Simon is kind of cool, Kaylee is sweet and funny and not so innocent, Jayne is...so Jayne, I love him.
The bad guy is pretty intense too, I thought he was great. And there's some scary and unexpected moments which really work.
There were sad moments too, and even though I knew they were coming I still cried. There's a moment near the end that is a big big shock and really brave. And so sad.
I loved it! I wanna see it again!
