Thought this show - and John - deserved a thread  Anyhoo, filming on Torchwood will start in April and Charlotte Church is slated to appear in a guest role at some point. I will update this thread with pics and any news when I get it  |

Apparantely, Eva Myles - Gwyneth in "The Unquiet Dead" has been cast as a member of the TW team, Gwen Cooper. It's not official but it looks like it will be soon 'cause there's this pic...  Hmm...wonder if she'll be having relations with Jack, heh... |

I can't wait for this...the time is going so fast. John Barrowman...yummy  Even if the plots of Torchwood are rubbish - and I hardly think they will be, not for me anyway - then I won't care because I'll be watching Captain Jack. That's probably what my reviews of it will be talking about most - how hot John looks as Captain Jack |

Torchwood trailers have been running for a few days now apparently and I still haven't seen one!

It was okay, passed the time. Still far too many dirty jokes for the sake of it, the plots were ripped off from The X-Files, and all the s*x and gay/lesbian snogging were clearly just put in to make sure it was infamous enough to get into the newspapers.
But it was nicely atmospheric, and Captain Jack remains a charismatic figure.
I'll reserve judgement for a few weeks before I decide whether I like it. But I just hope RTD realises before end-of-season that adult does not equal lots-of-swearing-and-raunchiness.

I've watched both eps twice now and I liked them much more the second time around. The first time I was a bit disappointed and I know what you mean about the sex and swearing for the sake of it, Storm. It did seem like it was an attempt to show how it was not for kids by having lots of swearing in the first episode and the second one all about sex. The second time I watched it I didn't notice it so much though, in fact I really like the first ep. The second one is still a bit meh, but OK. And yes, the plots were a bit ripped off from X-Files/Angel etc.
I still enjoyed it though and I'm looking forward to next week. Hopefully they will have got the 'adult' novelty out of their systems by then.
Great to see Jack again though!

Now last night's episode was pretty good. Still been done before, but at least it wasn't just a lazy excuse for gratuitous bad language, sex scenes or dirty jokes. Instead there was far more emphasis on plot. If the series can focus on that sort of approach and not on giving RTD an outlet for his kinky fantasies then there's real hope.
