What programme did you enjoy watching when young? Or what TV programmes do you miss?

Knightmare was, and is, my favourite kid's show. It was a fantasy game and a couple of years ago it was repeated on Challenge TV (it was on CITV originally) - and I taped all the episodes because I had to I still enjoy watching it, it's really funny at times and it's fantasy anyway, I think that's another reason

I miss the Adventure Game. Best bit was the Vortex at the end.
Think my favourite programme was Press Gang.

Yep, I used to like the Adventure Game too.
Remember the Press Gang with Julia Sawalha. Didn’t she have a fling with her co-star Dexter Fletcher (Spike) ?
Crystal Maze with host Richard O’Brian. I used to love that game show. Used to like all the different zones. Futuristic, Medieval, Industrial and Aztec.
Each game lasted 15 minutes. But if the team failed to get to the door in time they were locked in. They could only be bought out with a Crystal, which they win in the games

Oh yes, I loved the Crystal Maze too! Richard O'Brian was great. I loved the way he'd start chatting to the camera about Mumsie or something if the contestant couldn't work out how to do the challenge and was just standing around looking confused

Oh yeah ‘mumsy ‘ the fortune teller …. Richard O’Brian was great at hamming it up and improvising.
Do you want a physical, mental, skill or mystery game? And at the end when they got to go in the dome and had to collect gold tokens which where mixed in with silver ones. “Turn on the fans please!” and whoosh loads of air would rush into the dome and the tokens would blow around. The contestants would have a certain amount of time to collect as many gold tokens as they could.
Erk! Yes I did rather like this show. Can you tell?

I love this show too - I watched it right 'til the end, but even so, Richard O' Brien was a far better host than Ed Tudor-Pole. He really made me laugh - do you remember in one of the kid's specials, he tripped over a sword in the Aztec Zone? Classic ;D "The sands of time are running out"

Hill Street Blues. Loved the relationship between the characters Captain Frank Furillo and Joyce Davenport.
Remember Pob? A kind of puppet thing that used to spit at the screen then write on it..

Yep, I remember Pob - I watched it every week. The spitting thing was bizarre (Pob was bizarre!) but I thought it was a great show for kids. I remember that Spike Milligan told a funny story on it once, about a squirrel and Prince Charles. I can't remember what was in the story but I remember the squirrel got squirted by a water pistol - me and mum were killing ourselves laughing

Other programmes I miss (but some are maybe on Sky TV):
Bruce Forsyth's Generation Game (when Rosmarie Ford was on it)
Baywatch
Gladiators
Woof! (I've got the theme tune in my head right now) Remember, it was about a boy who turned into a dog.

In all honesty, I think kid's TV today is rubbish compared to what was on in the 80's and early 90's. I think there should be a new channel on Sky dedicated to showing old kid's shows - then the kids of today can watch them and find out exactly what they missed, I think they'd love it! Not only that, but the adults who watched those shows could get all nostalgic by watching them again ;D Here's what I watched when I was younger - well some of the shows, I can't remember them all, hehe! Knightmare Funhouse Finders Keepers The Really Wild Show (or, The WeeWee Wild Show, me and mum used to laugh at Chris Packham's pronounciation of it) Art Attack Rupert (the cartoon on ITV, not the one on BBC1) Mysterious Cities Of Gold Astro Farm Dangermouse Count Duckula Woof The Demon Headmaster ...and so on and so forth
