great review there Julia! I give that a 9 - it would have been 10 but you scared me with the mention of shop dummies..

I think those dummies were slightly creepier than the ones in "Rose", their eyes are horrible

I watched Spearhead From Space (Jon Pertwee's first story, the one with the shop window dummies in it) the other day. Great story Yeah, that's a good one, although it's very difficult to take it seriously enough these days. The dummies just look so unconvincing. Jon Pertwee's first season was the only decent one he appeared in, and he did put in some fairly good performances in it (still nowhere near as good as most of the other Doctors, but still better than anything he did in later years). His best performance was the final story of that season, Inferno, which I was watching the other day. The Doctor falls into another Universe where Britain is a dictatorship, and his old friends like the Brigadier and Liz Shaw are military thugs. Seven episodes long and not a minute wasted, great stuff.

I've recently started watching classic Who on Youtube, so far I've watched "An Unearthly Child", "The Daleks" and "Silver Nemesis" and I'm on Episode 2 of "Terror of the Autons" now. I do have quite a few stories on VHS/DVD and I've seen some repeats on UK Gold but apart from that, I have loads to catch up on! Roger Delgado as The Master is brilliant! ;D

Delgado was definitely far better than Antony Ainley as the Master, although I also liked Eric Roberts' portrayal in the Movie. It'll be interesting to see how well the new incarnation goes at the end of the current season.
